POSITION
Summary:
At Watts Healthcare, the Health Operations Data Analyst supports all staff roles throughout the care continuum (as assigned).
He/she will coordinate and monitor the analysis, design, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of data dashboard, systems and projects within the assigned area(s) as well as coordinate and Work cross functionally with various departments to capture and document requirements, build reporting solutions, and educate users on how to use reports.
The complex data analysis/integration projects are those, which may require periodic maintenance on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, biannual, or annual basis.
This role will support value-based goals in a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) through the application of experience to advance end-user efficiency and enhance patient safety outcomes.
This role will also align workplace priorities with the following:
improve the patient experience of care, improve health outcomes, reduce waste in the workflow and contribute to end user satisfaction.
Essential Functions:
This individual contributor is primarily responsible for assisting the Quality and Leadership team to support data-informed decisions, assisting with data and information gathering for targeted variables in an established systematic fashion, and assisting with data preparation for analytic efforts under guidance.
This individual will work with department teams to identify root causes of ongoing operational performance problems, identify current state and future state workflows, improve efficiency, and reduce waste.
Develop and manage a system wide data dashboard that will support all departments in routinely measuring financial, operational and quality metrics.
Work cross functionally with various departments to capture and document requirements, build reporting solutions, and educate users on how to use reports.
The position will have a good understanding of eCW modules, ancillary systems, and health system operations.
Assist with data and information gathering for targeted variables in an established systematic fashion by cleaning and organizing data; querying, merging, and extracting data across sources; completing routine data refresh and update; and providing user support and documentation.
Analyze data sets and trends for anomalies, outliers, trend changes and opportunities, using statistical tools and techniques to determine significance and relevance.
Utilize extrapolation, interpolation, and other statistical methodologies to predict future trends in cost, utilization, and performance.
Manage clinical operations, quality, 330B grant requirements and other operational indicators and metrics through a dashboard reportable to the organization.
Work with staff and physicians to optimize the functionality and utilization of clinical systems through education and training, quality outcomes monitoring, and providing support in accordance with organizational goals.
Utilize clinical experience, great communication skills, an understanding of medical practice documentation, as well as knowledge of regulatory requirements for community health centers (i.
e.
CMS, Meaningful Use, UDS, HEDIS, OSHPD etc).
Provide training to new employees as well as one-on-one support to established users as needed.
Collaborate to develop training materials for end users to assist with deployment of changes, exhibit excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all work products, ensure up to date project documentation.
Support and establish best practice workflows and advocate for regulatory, quality, compliance and patient safety initiatives.
Facilitate system implementation projects and collaborate with operations to create and/or maintain reporting needs.
Demonstrate the use of excellent organizational, communication skills, leadership skills, and interpersonal relations to achieve established goals.
Assist with data analysis education for senior staff, department managers and staff that conducts regular data reports.
Assist with research, development and completion of special projects as requested by various internal departments, or in support of requests from regulatory agencies, contracting agencies, or other external organizations.
Serve as the bridge between clinicians, vendors and information technology professionals.
May perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree; plus, a minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred
Experience:
Clinical informatics experience.
Computer Skills Required:
Ability to do complex reporting and dashboard development.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
Effective Communication, interpersonal relations and goal oriented.
Must be able to multi-task and take the initiative to complete tasks.
Highly motivated, team player, self-directed, able to execute tasks in a quickly changing environment.
Must exhibit passion and commitment to the mission of Watts Healthcare and Community Health Centers.
Must be reliable, and willing to travel to multiples locations across the WHCC system.
Proven ability to analyze troublesome complex workflows and provide recommendations to implement more effectively and efficient tools.
Exhibited knowledge, compassion and professionalism to manage stressful situations in a manner that is conducive to finding resolution.
Proven ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and interact with all levels of the organization.
Strong customer service orientation is a must.
